Turkey and vegetables balls

20th April 2015 - 1 minute read

I have been asked to share this recipe for some time now. Such an easy, quick and healthy meal to prepare for your little ones. It can be made into batches and freeze, you can use the mixture to make burgers, patties, sausages or balls. And let your little ones to get involved in grating and mixing, they love to get their hands dirty too! So here you have it:

  • 250g turkey mince, thighs are the best (you can also use chicken, been or lamb instead)
  • 1 garlic clove, grated or crushed
  • 1 cup finely grated vegetables such as carrot, sweet potato, pumpkin, courgette or parsnip
  • 1 tbsp fresh herbs such as parsley or 1 tsp dry herbs such as thyme
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup fresh or dry breadcrumbs
  • small handful of sunflower seeds

Preheat the oven to 190℃/375℉, line a baking sheet with parchment paper. In a mixing bowl, mix all ingredients together to form a cohesive mass. With wet hands, make little balls or patties of an even size. Place them on baking sheet and bake/grill for about 20 minutes, depending on the size, until coked through but still juicy. Have fun!
